Roy Prosterman began Landesa’s work in 1967. We created the Landesa Campaign to honor his legacy and continued commitment as a pioneer of secure land rights.
Thanks to your support, we’ve honored Roy and strengthened the central pillars of the Landesa Campaign.
Landesa continues to build the next generation of land rights advocates.
Over the past four years, we have hosted a total of 28 Visiting Professionals, who have helped Landesa strengthen the network of women’s land rights professionals around the world.
The Landesa Campaign elevated land rights as a key foundation for poverty alleviation on the global stage.
This year the UN incorporated land rights for women and men into its historic global agenda, the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals.
In 2015, Landesa received the Hilton Humanitarian Prize, the world's largest humanitarian award, in recognition of our decades of achievement and the more than 115 million families we’ve helped gain more secure rights to land.
Your commitment helped make all of this and more possible! And it will continue to create opportunity for the world’s poorest women and men for years to come. Thank you for your support of the Landesa Campaign.
