Libin Wang Director of International Program in Development Studies, China Agricultural University
Libin Wang is a professor in the Department of Development Studies, College of Humanities and Development Studies at China Agricultural University. Prof. Wang received her Bachelor and Master’s Degree in Agricultural Economics, and Ph.D. in Human Resource Development from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
For more than 10 years, Prof. Wang has been the acting gender expert for numerous World Bank, Asian Development Bank, UNDP, and UNICEF programs in China. She has worked on several ADB projects designing compensation packages to reduce the negative impacts of resettlement related land loss on rural women. Prof. Wang conducted UNDP funded research on women’s land rights issues under non-voluntary resettlement programs. She is also the gender expert on a research project to study gender issues in the collective forestry land tenure reform in China funded by the World Bank. Prof. Wang carried out the gender mainstreaming assessment for UNICEF and UNDP programs in China.
