Friday, May 15, 2015 — Landesa’s Board of Directors announced today that Chris Jochnick, a Harvard Law School Graduate with two decades of experience in international development working on social and economic justice issues, will become Landesa’s new CEO. Chris currently leads Oxfam America’s work on business and development including shareholder engagement, value chain assessments, and collaborative advocacy initiatives such as the “Behind the Brands” campaign. Jochnick is the co-founder and former director of two pioneering and successful non-profit organizations devoted to economic and social rights. Previously, Jochnick worked as a corporate attorney on corporate governance and social responsibility issues with the Wall Street law firm of Paul, Weiss.
Tim Hanstad, who has served as Landesa’s President and CEO for the last 10 years and has been with the organization for nearly 29 years, will – like Landesa founder Roy Prosterman – continue to serve the organization and its mission. Tim, who led the organization through a remarkable period of growth, will remain in a leadership role and devote more time and attention to Landesa’s program work. Read the press release
