WASHINGTON, January 12, 2017 — NGO Advisor has published its updated ranking of the top 500 non-government organizations (NGOs) and Landesa is now ranked the #9 NGO in the world. This marks the second year in a row that Landesa has ranked in the top 10 NGOs globally.
Landesa helps women and men living in the world’s poorest areas gain access to opportunity and break cycles of poverty. Landesa has partnered with governments on reforms that have provided secure, legal land rights to more than 120 million families living in poverty. Landesa helped shape the United Nations 2030 development agenda with land rights featuring prominently in the Sustainable Development Goals related to poverty, food security and gender equality.
We are honored to be among such respected organizations — including our fellow Omidyar Network grantees, Skoll Foundation awardees, and Hilton Humanitarian Prize recipients — making a remarkable impact around the world. Organizations were judged on three pillars: impact, innovation, and governance, which are comprised of 165 individual evaluation criteria.
