Landesa hosted Leilana Farha, the UN Special Rapporteur on Adequate Housing, on a field visit to Karnataka, and explained the fundamental importance of land rights to broad-based and sustainable development. Farha visited villages in rural Karnataka to better understand the land and housing needs of the poor. She was accompanied by Juana Sotomayor, Human Rights Officer for the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, as well as Landesa Co-Founder and Senior Advisor Tim Hanstad and Karnataka State Director S.B. Lokesh.
